Business and life in general are very similar to building a dam, letting it fill with water till the wall breaks, rushing down stream till the next dam and starting all over again.
Building the dam is getting the basics in place and deciding which river you want to attempt, trying to decide the best strategy to get into the river with out sinking;
the filling up takes a long time, plenty of patience and is the period where you work yourself to the bone, long hours and plenty of effort with seemingly little progress or reward. You are chasing opportunities and knocking on closed doors;
but as the dam fills up the wall takes strain and begins to crack, this is the period when you start to see you efforts pay off and all of a sudden the wall breaks and you rush forward with enormous speed and power. Your rewards are plentiful and your obstacles don't stand a chance;
then you enter another dam, another level of business, and you start chipping away at the dam wall again, knowing what awaits when you break through.
As you flow down stream, you collect more and more water therefore making the dam walls easier and easier to break until you don't even realise they are there and you are constantly rushing over obstacles and reaping rewards.
This is very important to remember when you are just starting to fill your first dam and the wall seems too rise for eternity.
Keep Going!!
The one who can handle the rising water the longest will survive.
